The High Peaks Festival is a program of the renowned music organization Close Encounter's with Music (CEWM), founded by Yehudi Hanani over 30 years ago.  For the past 15 years CEWM has brought together an international group of strings, pianists and vocalists to converge in the Berkshires for intensive study with distinguished faculty artists. Each participant receives private lessons, joins in master classes by faculty and guests, is coached as part of a performing ensemble, and enjoys discussions and workshops by prominent composers, renowned pedagogues and notable figures in the music world who help guide and inspire students as they prepare for a life in the profession.  A major component of the program is performing in public and Chesterwood is proud to host the High Peaks Festival students within the historic Studio for its second year.
