The second offering in the 2024 Evening Explorations series at Chesterwood centers the lives and work of the Piccirilli Brothers, six Italian immigrants whose immense skills as marble carvers were integral to the creation of sculptor Daniel Chester French's famed Abraham Lincoln in Washington, D.C. -- among many others of his works. The contributions of immigrants to our national conscience and identity are often overlooked. In this program, we acknowledge and remember the artistry of these six Italian brothers, and how they shaped the American experience.
Join veteran tour guide Nancy Sheridan for an evening tour at Chesterwood without the crowds, concluding with prosecco and conversation on the Studio Piazza.
Wednesday July 24 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
