The Casting Room in the Sculptor’s Studio

General Admission: In the captivating summer sanctuary of sculptor Daniel Chester French, move at your own pace through the blooming gardens and Woodland Walk, wind through picturesque forests towards stunning Berkshire views. Immerse yourself in our Barn Gallery’s permanent collection to experience a lifetime of monumental works and the stories behind them. Also includes self-guided access to the Studio, where French’s iconic Abraham Lincoln for DC’s Lincoln Memorial was designed. Add on a tour to see more!

Residence Re-Opening: After a four-year hiatus due to a major renovation, the Gilded Age family residence re-opens with a new tour experience in which knowledgeable interpreters guide visitors through the main rooms on the first floor.  Tours are available Wednesday through Monday at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Check Chesterwood.org for specialty tours throughout the season led by members of Chesterwood’s educational and curatorial staff.

Studio Tours: Brand new tours of the Studio at Chesterwood are coming. Explore Daniel Chester French’s efforts to craft a new vision of American identity through his monumental works – and the implications of these works in contemporary society. Tours are available Wednesday – Monday at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
