RACHEL URQUHART grew up in Manhattan and on a dairy farm in Tyringham, Massachusetts. She began her magazine career at Spy before spending a decade at Vogue as a writer and editor. Over the years, she has contributed articles to a variety of publications including The New Yorker, The New York Times, Tin House, Allure, Elle, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Food & Wine, Travel & Leisure, Vanity Fair, Women’s Times and The Reader. She currently works as a writer, teacher and essay coach, and lives full-time in Tyringham. The Visionist is her first novel.

FRANNY CHOI is the author of Soft Science (Alice James Books) and Floating, Brilliant, Gone (Write Bloody Publishing), as well as a chapbook, Death by Sex Machine (Sibling Rivalry Press). She is a Kundiman Fellow, a 2019 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellow, a recipient of Princeton’s Holmes National Poetry Prize, and a graduate of the University of Michigan's Helen Zell Writers Program. The founder of Brew & Forge, Franny is a Poetry Editor at the Massachusetts Review and on faculty at Bennington College. Her third poetry collection, The World Keeps Ending, and the World Goes On, is forthcoming soon (so soon!) from Ecco/HarperCollins.
