Hours & Admission


Chesterwood  is open daily for the 2015 season beginning May 23 through Columbus Day, October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Everything is self guided and visitors are able to walk in and out of the studio, residence, and barn gallery. NOTE: Residence is closed 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.

In addition, Chesterwood is open weekends in May — May 2 & 3, May 9 & 10, and May 16 & 17. Also after Columbus Day, Chesterwood is open weekends — Oct 17 & 18, Oct 24 & 25, and Oct 31. One hour guided tours are at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. NOTE: Visitors may only view the inside of the studio and residence by guided tour. 


Adults, $17.50; Seniors, $16.50; Grounds ONLY fee, $10.00; NTHP Members & Children, 13-17, $8.75; Friends of Chesterwood & Children Under 13, Free.

Includes the residence, gardens, exhibit gallery, hands-on art activities for kids, museum shop, picnic area and walking trails.

Most of the estate is accessible to persons with limited mobility, however the residence and orientation buildings have one step for entrance. The paths are fairly level and covered with pea stone.
