Join Chesterwood’s Curatorial Assistant, Anne Cathcart, to learn about the artists and their artworks featured in this year’s outdoor contemporary sculpture exhibit. Enjoy free admission to explore the country home, studio and gardens of America’s foremost public sculptor, Daniel Chester French.
Walk is 0.5 mile, 1.5 hours.
From Stockbridge, travel west on Route 102, turn left on Route 183. 1/4 of a mile past the Norman Rockwell Museum, turn right onto Mohawk Lake Road, then left onto Willow St., which becomes Williamsville Rd., an unpaved road just before reaching Chesterwood. Park in the lot and walk up to the Barn Gallery.

1:00 PM – CHESTERWOOD GARDENS & LANDSCAPE TOUR
Join Gerard Blache for an in-depth tour of the inspirational gardens and woodland walks at the country home and studio of America’s public sculptor, Daniel Chester French. See how he designed and sculpted Chesterwood’s grounds after European estates; and learn about the mechanics and early science that went into building and living in a turn-of-the-20th century Berkshire “cottage”.
Walk is 1 mile, 1 hour.
