Celebrate the opening of the 32nd annual Contemporary Sculpture at Chesterwood (CSC) exhibition, curated by Bruce Weber, Senior Curator, 19th and Early 20th Century Art at the National Academy Museum, New York, NY, where Daniel Chester French was an Academician of the National Academy from 1900 until his death in 1931. The work of 15 contemporary sculptors selected by Weber will be sited throughout the property and on view through October 10. This year’s exhibition will also pay tribute to internationally acclaimed sculptor Leonda Froehlich Finke. This will be Finke’s seventh appearance in Contemporary Sculpture at Chesterwood and like French, in 1994, she was elected an Academician of the National Academy. In addition, the Lillian Heller Curator’s Award will be awarded.
Refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Free for NTHP and Friends of Chesterwood members, and $10 for the public.
