For the curious, the bronze sculpture featured on Antiques Roadshow is “Joy” – French did several variations of the “Joy” figure. One version of this small, bronze figurine is in the parlor of the Chesterwood residence. Look for it the next time you visit Chesterwood!

Thank you for your comment and for taking the time to explore Chesterwood's new Virtual Exhibits. The three exhibits, focusing on Chesterwood's Studio, Home, and Barn Galleries, provide information about specific collections pieces that can be seen in, or which relate to, these exhibition spaces. The Virtual Exhibits were built using a template from PastPerfect, the software we use to maintain our museum collections database. Unfortunately, the current Virtual Exhibit template does not allow for the inclusion of "installation photographs", which would show the collections pieces in situ, but we hope that a future version can allow us to give our online visitors a more in-depth view of Chesterwood's exhibition spaces. We appreciate your bringing to our attention that the phrase "Virtual Tour" can imply a different kind of online experience than what is currently available through these Virtual Exhibits. To avoid confusion, we've replaced the term "virtual tour" with "virtual exhibit".

"vitural tours.... launched" i thought i would see a walk thru of the buildings or some other close up view as intimate as a personal visit; yet when i saw the page, it was made of of tedious click thru menus, rewarded with only a thumbnail image of objects that expanded to slightly larger than that. The internet is a big place. gotta go.
